Nope. Your bus is running at 50 MHz, your mobo cache can't be removed, and your SCSI chain is full of interesting things which OS X probably doesn't like. Also FWB hard disk tools are not OS X compatible, AFAIR. So you've a fair bit of tuning to do before you can make this stable under OS X.

I have a 9600 originally a 200MP upgraded with a Sonnet G4/450, 864 megs of
ram, two 4 gig hard drives SCSI IDs 0 and 1, CD-Rom ID 3, Yamaha 8424S CD-RW
ID 4, Radeon 9200 Mac Edition. I am running OS 9.2.2 on drive ID 0 and
nothing is installed on the second hard drive. The spare drive ID 1, is
formatted with Drive Setup 2.0.5. The system disk is formatted with FWB and
was that way when I got it. I have not reformatted due to a lack of desire
to reinstall 9.2.2. Built in ethernet only.

What I don't have is any USB card or ATA cards.

I have tried many times over the last year to install OSX both 10.1 and
Panther using both Sonnet's installer for 10.1 and Xpostfacto for both.

I've had one successful install that crashed after about an hour of use
while trying to get things settled in with iTunes, Safari, email and my
network. It felt a bit slow, but it worked and I was trying to get the
L2Cache working when it bombed and I've not been able to reinstall OSX
since.

The one thing that sticks out is that I had done a fresh install of 9.1 on a
seperate partition on the second drive before the successful OSX install.
Could that make a difference?

Would having a USB card and/or ATA card installed make a difference. Would
using an ATA drive work better?

I'd love to get this thing running OSX, but I'm frustrated. If you have OSX
on a 9600 particularly with a G4 under 700 mhz are you happy with the
performance? The only complaint I have my about 9.2.2 performance is that
Quicktime takes about a second or so for the video to start moving vs
immediate response in 8.6.

Thanks to all in advance.
