a c600 (apus 3000 in europe) with max ram and g3 upgrade and a c500 running linux are still here... yes, a full farm of mac clones and originals :-)
afair when fiddling with some linux distributions they had problems with the alchemy boards (6400/6500 and the clones), they didnt see the onboard scsi controller
what network card did u used ? I have an apple comslot II card in on the c600 but can stick in a intel pro 100
or is using Darwin on those boxes a better idea, never looked into this closely
