There are other advantages for Apple that all add up.

1. Inexpensive (relatively) processors all the way up and down the line.  This
will keep Apple's margins high, even at the low end.
2. No need to have to defend clock speed anymore.
3. Intel's chips will have digital rights management support in the chip.  This
will help Apple convince Hollywood to let them iTunes their movies. 
4. 'Virtual' PC  can now be real PC run on hardware.  So if I'm someone who
really likes Apple's apps for creative or entertainment reasons, but I need a
Windows computer for work, I can have a single computer.

Basically, Apple will be getting a flexibility that will serve them well in the
future.
