There are other advantages for Apple that all add up. 1. Inexpensive (relatively) processors all the way up and down the line. This will keep Apple's margins high, even at the low end. 2. No need to have to defend clock speed anymore. 3. Intel's chips will have digital rights management support in the chip. This will help Apple convince Hollywood to let them iTunes their movies. 4. 'Virtual' PC can now be real PC run on hardware. So if I'm someone who really likes Apple's apps for creative or entertainment reasons, but I need a Windows computer for work, I can have a single computer.
Basically, Apple will be getting a flexibility that will serve them well in the future. --- Dan Stewart <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > > Freescale MPC8641 Intel Pentium M > > > >L2 cache 1MB 2MB > >Clock 1.5 GHz + 1.5-2 GHz > >Bus 2x677 MHz 533 MHz > >Controller Internal 915 or 855 family > > > >The e600 is a system-on-a-chip.
