apologies for slight off-topic Q -- i have two new OSX apps that were
exported from older programs written to run on UNIX mainframes. they
were a little lazy, and the apps do not have an installer. you have to
copy the files manually, and then write a shell script before they will
run under OSX transparently.
i don't want to learn UNIX, i just want to run these apps. i anticipate
that trying to extract just the minimum amount of knowledge from some
"UNIX for Retards" tome will turn out to be a black hole for time, and a
vulcan nerve pinch to my emotional and spiritual stability. i just want
to run these apps.
can anyone please tell me where i can find a step by step cook-book
recipe for doing only this? i don't care to understand why the things i
type are important and what they actually do or mean. i just want to
run the apps. can anyone point me to some online help, somewhere?
i just want to run the apps.
TIA,
john (i just want to run these #*ยข%^&g apps)
