I use a Belkin USB toParallel cable between my beige G3 and my HP
LaserJet6L.
Installed gimpprint, the esp ghostprint stuff and hpijs and then used
the Advanced option in Print Centre to
Select 'Unknown' as the device type and then selected the correct
driver. It set itself up fine after that.
I then used the CUPS admin page (localhost port 631) to set up the
printer further to my needs.
It then worked after trying a test page.
To get it to work with Windows clients I edited mime.types and mime.conv
in /etc/cups and uncommented
the octet-stream/raw bits.All works as it should do without a hitc
