"As thy days, so shall thy strength be...He giveth power to the faint; and
to them that have no might He increaseth strength." Deuteronomy 33:25 and
Isaiah 40:29

Dear Christians: Greetings, in the Light no darkness can overcome.

A couple of things of which we ask you to take note.

1. Our regularly scheduled Lutheran Confessions Study Club will convene
Monday, February 1, here at Saint John, Audubon, at 9:30am with Morning
Prayer to begin the day. Our trek through the Solid Declaration of the
Formula of Concord, 1577, will continue with our consideration of "Original
Sin."

2. I will be sending you, under a separate e-mail, notice from Pastor Nathan
Sherill of a Confirmation Retreat in Council Bluffs, Iowa, scheduled for
June 15-17. The cost, for what is sure to take place there under his able
leadership and that of Pastor Clint Poppe, is, truly, negligible. It is
also close enough in proximity that those unable to go to Memphis or Logan
this summer can more easily make the journey.

3. Hereunder, you will find an invitation from our District President, Paul
Sieveking, to join us at Saint John, Audubon, Sunday afternoon from 2-5pm,
for a rural Ministry workshop under the moniker "Changing Communities-Future
Ministries."

Though this is somewhat short notice, I am asking you to kindly consider
coming with a congregation leader or two, that you may sit in on
presentations from President Sieveking, Pastors Bob Riggert and Gene Ernst
and LCEF's Carol White -- each with salient information from within their
own disciplines and vocations -- which will help us look, with Christ our
Lord's grace and heavenly aid, to the days of 2010 and beyond, at the
Ministry of the Gospel in the midst of His people here in rural Iowa.

If nothing else, you may review the enclosed attachment with your own folks,
and begin to consider -- if you have not already begun to do so -- how our
dear Lord Jesus, according to His good and gracious will, will care for His
holy little Flock in the future here in Iowa District West.

Please, if at all possible, make plans to join us here at Saint John,
Audubon, both Sunday afternoon and Monday morning.

Jesus is with you and your dear ones,

Bradley+
