Last night's report from a family friend.

"The cancer was in his mouth, and had attached itself to the jaw bone.
Yesterday the Dr's. removed the tumor and part of the jaw bone. Then the Dr's
transplanted bone, & tissue from his right leg and reconstructed the jaw. We
saw him today and he looks very good, considering what he has been through.
His face is extremely swollen and he has an incision from almost ear to ear and
up his chin through his lip. His eyes were sparkling and he was smiling as best
as he could. He is off all sedation and breathing on his own. He has started
p. t. today and tomorrow they will have him standing. He was sitting up
watching t.v. when we got there! He is in the ICU and will remain there for 3
days for sure. I'm not sure if he will be home as early as was first thought."

An out of season Gesima "Hallelujah!" for the Lord is truly "gracious and
merciful, slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love." Psalm 145:8

In an ironic twist, John Wesley, on the occasion of being told that he was no
longer allowed to preach at a particular church said, "There are few matters
more repugnant to reasonable people than the grace of God."
