Why we will do this
So that you can make a contribution to the Central American Project of the Luther Academy. The plan is to transport 25 Lutheran pastors and one Lutheran professor to the same place (Guatemala) at the same time (October 3-7, 2011) for a week. Luther Academy will sponsor and finance these conferences for three years. The professor will teach and the pastors will learn. The result will be that the pastors in this part of the world will be better trained to carry out their ministries. They will learn their theology better and the kingdom of God will both expand and be strengthened. In 2011 the theological topic is “The Office of the Ministry.”
 
What we will need
Each year the cost of the endeavor is about $20,000. A friend of Luther Academy will match all gifts up to $10,000 a year for three years. So, Luther Academy needs an additional $10,000 a year for three years. Our goal for the May 4 event is to collect $4000 toward that $10,000 goal.
 
What to bring
Klemet and Janet Preus will supply the food and drinks. They are yours if you give nothing or $500. But we would like to encourage gifts of $25, $50, $100 or more depending on your ability. Bring a check book or a credit card, a generous heart, a good appetite and the desire for a good ti
