Registration for the A Time for Every Purpose Under Heaven: An Exploration of
Sacred History seminar in Conway and Rogers, Arkansas is now closed…but there
still is room if you would like to at ten d the seminar in Harrison, Arkansas
this coming Wednesday, 3 April 2013!
This class will be of benefit to pastors, but ALSO to laity high school age and
above; home schoolers and home schooled children, especially, are greatly
encouraged to attend. The following snippet will give you a taste of what is
included:
What is history? For many post-modern men—maltreated and miseducated by
substandard pseudo-educators in the holding pens which society calls “public
schools”—history is just a string of disassociated events which reduces to a
catalog of ‘one blasted thing after another.’ Taught to avoid any awareness of
a transcendent significance associated with any event and to simply become
immersed in fleeting concerns, the cultivated ignorance of history has
partially blinded its victims to the reality which surrounds them from before
the moment of birth. In an age when the value of life is measured only by the
perception of personal material affluence, the most fundamental needs of human
beings have been woefully neglected. Ours is a dark age, in the proper sense of
the concept. It is an age in which those who claim to know are often the most
ignorant—ignorant of the sacred history which undergirds the history of the
race—and thus men are ignorant of who they are, when they are, and where they
are. An awareness of the darkness of the present age offers the possibility of
repentance, and a return to a civilization worthy of the term.
The book is divided into the following sections: "Time and the Church—An
Exploration of Sacred, Secular, and Mythological Conceptions of History"; "The
Seven Deadly Values of Contemporary Culture—The Shape of the Enemy's Weapons
Against Our People Today"; and "The Thousand Year Descent of the West"…each of
which are, frankly, fascinating: having heard Pr. Heiser speak to each of these
topics in a variety of venues over the years, I was still consistently
delighted to read the 'finished product' and am personally looking forward to
the great gift I am getting with this class (namely, that I do get to go to all
three sessions!).
The class will run from 9:00 until between 4:00 and 4:30.
If you come to the Harrison class and feel like staying for a free dinner in
Everton, Arkansas, we would love to have you (but would really love to know
you're staying before the day of the class!).
The $25.00 fee for the class INCLUDES A COPY OF THE BOOK.
Other Repristination Press titles will be on display for you to examine and
purchase.
As seating space will be limited and Bp. Heiser needs to know how many books to
bring, PLEASE, if you would like to attend, let me know by return email to
[email protected] NO LATER THAN 6:00 p.m. (CDT) on the Eve of the Festival of
the Resurrection, 30 March 2013!
