Ya, I agree. I didn't design this website. I don't like the website.
I have only been in charge of maintaining the content. Tuesday, I
proposed the new website (along with a new, less expensive host). So
I have started with the programming side. I haven't really gotten to
design yet.

have that knowledge you can start getting creative. The site is a

remedy site, so to me that means organic. Right now you have a navy
blue/purple buttons with dark magenta background with a light tan
forground.
First off I'd drop the background color of the site period and
leave it
white. Unless you are an experienced graphics designer or have a
natural
feel for color combinations being used in a proper way background
colors on
business sites just don't usually jive. You have to tailor all of the
graphics to that background color and it is just more pain in the
end. Once
you see the background is white you realize more possibilties open up.
Next after you get a feel of how to create buttons ex: (

create you
own style buttons, maybe with an organic plant like feel? Just an
idea. You
can theme your site around your businesses style.
If you feel compatibility is a problem, you can try a css based
menu such as

Also you can always keep the menu and just add in a search
function. One
last note, organic and wildcrafted black, on the dark magnette
background is
somewhat hard to read. black on any dark color is going to be hard
to read.

The menus on the current site (www.westernbotanicals.com) seem very
cluttered to me (besides that they don't work well in Safari).
I am thinking about having three buttons across the top, called
"Products", "Information", and "About us." With a search box on the
right. Each of these pages would then further break down the subject
in the content of the page.
