Thanks Victor and Jay :) I gave it a rest for a while then went back
trying once more with the ID instead of a class, and then it was OK. I
did have to remove the label to get rid of that, too, so I am betting
that was part of the problem as well.

Thanks for the condolences. That page is actually fairly old, but they
didn't want to change it (understandably). The story's not all sad
though. Her brother is much better now. And they have a new little one
that's being tested tomorrow to see if she'll need a transplant. Since
she's a newborn, it should take easily if she does need one, and chances
are she won't. Still, if you're the praying type and wouldn't mind
remembering these guys, I'd appreciate it!
If it's isn't that, then it is probably the <label> tags that's throwing it
off. I get the field to go away by removing it. My adjusted css and html
code below:
