I understand completely. During the two (ridiculous) experiences I had with
headhunters, they "rearranged" my resume so that it "fit" their criteria,
they encouraged me to lie about my skill set and tried to leverage me into
taking "interview training" (for a fee) by threatening to not present me to
other employers. After the second time around I felt like I could represent
myself better than they could. I have also talked to many headhunters that
told me I was not a good fit but then gave excellent advise about a wide
range of things that helped me later on. So, while I understand that they
want to "clean me up" so that I present better, I'm not ready to turn over
my employment opportunities to people who only see me as another database
record on their list. I know that is how they make their living but the
only headhunter that I have found that has my personal welfare in mind is
me.
