I used to be subscribed to just the announcement list, but after showing up to the March meeting and waiting half an hour only to find out the next day that it was canceled (grumble), I ended up feeling obligated to sign
up for the main list. It seems like the only way to find out about
canceled meetings with enough notice is on the main list, and even then we
only find out the day of the meeting if someone happens to ask...

Maybe this is a plea for this group to be more organized in general... if
you're going to retire the announcement list, please at least post the
cancellations on the web site by noon on the day of the meeting.

Thanks for the feedback. Sorry for leaving your hanging. I think that we should keep the announcement list and work harder to keep announcements and discussions separated so that people can trust it.
