I did a bunch of things, so I can't really pin it down to one particular thing. I guess the biggest help was switching from php 4.3.9 running as cgi to php 5.2.5 as an apache module. I'm sure tuning the database, enabling mod_expires and mod_deflate, and installing eAccelerate helped as well. At any rate, they certainly didn't hurt. I'm not worried about resources on the server as the load is only around 5% on the box, so hitting the CPU to compress stuff and a little bit on the memory (though it could use some more) isn't really a problem. - -- - -Jason Porter Real Programmers think better when playing Adventure or Rogue.
