I think we're going to give subversion a try.  I'm afraid I wasn't to sure
on exactly what our needs were, but that's were it helps to have access to
the combined experience of the Group.

I'd give Subversion a try.  Its pretty painless to get up and running.
Combined with Tortoise for Windows, I think you'll find it easy to learn and
get started.
