I thought I just read where Mac's just accounted for 25% of new PC
sales. As I travel around, I see most developers on Macs (or Linux) and
most college students running Macs. Opera is used more in Europe and on
handhelds. Assuming Firefox catches up on the acid test (they are
behind but up there), the browser share that complies with W3C standards
like SVG jumps to something like 40% . Depending on who your customer
base is, it's no longer impractical to specify that customers use a W3C
standard browser (Safari, Opera, Firefox) to run your applications.
btw Opera even includes SVG video using OGG format - very cool.
