I concur.  It might be easier to actually just move uphpu to a google
group or something which basically handles all of this stuff and makes
it easier for the current president to quickly and easily make changes
to the group data.  For instance, utahpython.org is a google group and
has a simple front page with the latest info about the group and its
meeting times.

Probably the only big issue is whether migrating the old mailing list
data is worth the effort or just have the old archives be linked to in
some fashion.
