Just want to throw in my unsolicited plug here ... I worked at SoftwareMedia in this role for a few years (until Dec 2006) and had a blast. It's a fun work environment and you'll get to work on some really interesting projects and grow professionally. You'll be working closely with the CEO and marketing manager (among others) to design and build systems that directly and noticeably increase sales (e.g. "how can we underprice our competition in realtime?" :). You'll also be building/maintaining customer-facing sites, plus internal tools for customer service/inventory/etc. And they're a bunch of ski bums, so that's cool. Work hard, play hard.
