Is it the same domain, or the same hostname? The CORS
access-control-allow-origin stuff is needed any time it isn't the same
hostname.

We've had places where we've had to set up a simple proxy PHP script on the
host that loads the JS files so that IE can get AJAX results from a
different hostname.
