In tandem, I often hear the "spaces are always one column!" argument, which
is false and shows the same lack of tools understanding (to say nothing of
typefaces).  If your code readability relies on a specific number of
columns, regardless of language, you're probably self-limiting (and
definitely limiting your fellows).
