As you all know, Mark Boyd and Jan Nielsen have recently left SunGard Higher
Education. Both are excellent engineers and will be missed. I sincerely wish
them well in their new companies.

The loss of these two resources required us to readjust various projects here
in-house creating periods of pause in our open source activities. We are
working on replacing both engineers as soon as possible and have leveraged
Craig Riddle's uPortal experience in the meantime. Craig has worked with the
uPortal code during the past several years and has made significant
contributions to improving the quality of the Luminis Platform product. He
has some defect fixes that would be appropriate to contribute back to open
source. I would like to request he be given committer rights. Craig will
continue to work on reducing our defect backlog over the next while and
undoubtedly he will have further fixes to contribute back to the community. He
received DLM training from Mark Boyd at the recent JA-SIG conference and has
made some enhancements to DLM that were requested by our customers. Craig will
also be attending the upcoming Developers' meetings and will continue to
improve the code in a maintenance role.

Sincerely,

Marlin Benson

Development Manager, SunGard Higher Education
