A simple property default change that would make things better.  Good call.

Beyond that:

Adoption of more robust and sweeping AJAX-style rendering and interaction features would better meet the use case those anchors were intended to meet (interacting with a channel or portlet shouldn't reset the scroll on the portal window).

I know we talked about this at the JHU uP dev meeting, but I've lost track of progress since then...?  Anyone working on it?
