Thanks for the patch Kris, I'll take a look if I can find time today but it may have to wait until next week as I'm heading out on vacation later today. Once we get a few sets of eyes on it we can get it applied to 2.6 and the upcoming 3.0 code.

test against it yet.  This is the first time I've posted a patch so I'm
not familiar with what the usual testing/committing procedure is for
these patches.  Also, if the format of the unified diff isn't quite
