Several members of the Fluid team will be present at the Unconference this fall, including myself (a developer) and Allison Bloodworth (a designer). We'll be available to work with any Unconference attendees who are interested in incorporating Fluid components (http://wiki.fluidproject.org/display/fluid/Components ) into their interfaces, or who might like some design help.
We have already been talking with the folks at UC Irvine about working with them on the development of the new Announcements tool.
