I would find it very helpful if there were a shell script or ant task solution for creating new themes and skins. Ant, for example, provides a regex string substitution directive that could be used. Simplified example: 1) Must take theme/skin name as parameter 2) Copy universality directory to new directory named "xyz" 3) Regex substitute uportal3 with xyz 4) repeat step 3 for any other settings that need to be fixed
I wouldn't be too picky about the friendliness of the interface given that I likely wouldn't need to do this very often. It would be much simpler than following a tutorial of a dozen steps or more listing all the files and directories that must be created and edited just to make a working copy of universality. - Aaron P.S. My apologies if this post completely breaks the threadedness of the topic so far - I joined the list just now in order to respond to this conversation. -- Aaron Brown ([email protected] | 785-864-0462) University of Kansas Information Services System Design Enterprise System Integration Developer
