All,

I've been asked to help out with UP-2392, which in nutshell attempts to employ Spring to wire together all of the import/export tasks.

In the process of working on that issue, I've run into groups. There are now import/export scripts in the trunk to export groups, memberships, or both. By both I mean "export a group and its members into a single .group_membership file."

I think that there is no intention to continue supporting redundant scripts. Well, at least redundant export scripts, as I think that if you have .group and .membership files from an older uPortal. 3.1 does not come with .group and .membership files. In fact, I think that export_internal.crn has an error that would prevent anyone from exporting a group.

So are we set on exporting only .group_membership files? If we are, should we get rid of export scripts for .group and .membership?

As for import scripts, do we have to support .group, .membership, and .group_membership along with the uPortal version-specific varieties?

Thanks,
Adam
