The lack of html support in UBC_Webmail was one of our main concerns as well.
But we dropped out of active involvement with UBC_Webmail enhancements a while
ago when a decision was made to use Microsoft Exchange for staff email and
Google Mail for students. Student conversion is still in progress. We are now
focusing on interfacing with these 3rd party services via uPortal, but the work
in that area has just begun. What we have now is a modified UBC_Webmail channel
that invokes UBC_Webmail for those who have it, and links out to a new window
for Exchange and Google.

Subject: [uportal-dev] HTML email support

Hi,

Currently, we are using a modified version of the UBC_Webmail channel,
which doesn't support rendering/composing HTML email. However, this
feature request has been increased significantly in the past few years.
I would like to find out what are other schools that leverage uPortal
possibly doing to provide HTML email support at this point in time?

Thanks,
Tuy
