[uportal-dev] uPortal 4 GA release planning

We're getting close to a GA release of uPortal 4. I don't think we have any big bugs left though there are some feature regressions that I think we'll just live with for the 4.0 GA. If you are doing development on uPortal trunk please post your task and status. I need to start really tracking what people are planning on doing for the next week. If all goes well I'll be getting the GA cut on the 12th. I won't actually publish the artifacts until the 14th so that we can do some testing on them before they are published.

Features I know that are not complete and will not be for the GA, if you have others please add them to this list: - We've been talking about taking the 4.0 opportunity to re-work stats collection a bit. Right now parts of the old stats framework are still in place though only about 20% of the events are actually being fired. In the interest of getting the GA out and ready for deployers to work with we're proposing disabling stats collection in the 4.0 GA. Immediately post-GA we would work on the stats framework and include it in a 4.0.1 release. We can do this without breaking database schema compatibility so it shouldn't be a blocker for folks looking at a 4.0 install. - Public render parameter support is missing, this is an optional part of the spec but we do want to have a complete implementation, again we will work to include it in a patch release.
