I'm going to try my best to do monthly patch releases of the latest uPortal release. That would mean that 4.0.1 would be cut the first week in October, 4.0.2 the first week of November, etc. For minor releases we're going to shoot for 6 to 12 months between releases though I'd like to lean toward the 6 month side of it and just try to get a minor release out after each new bit feature/refactoring is complete.

That said 3.x still needs maintenance. I'm going to set aside time this month to get patch releases out of all of the 3.x branches and potentially the 2.x export branches but once those are out my time for doing patch releases of 3.x branches is going to diminish. If anyone one is at all interested in helping out with cutting releases of any uPortal branch please let me know. It really isn't that hard, maven and ant do 90% of the work for you. Your reward would be endless appreciation from myself and all of the folks out there with that version of uPortal deployed! Note that these are not "forever" roles, in fact it makes the most sense for someone who is currently on 3.2 for example to help get 3.2.x releases pushed out and when they upgrade to 4.0 they would leave the 3.2 release generation to someone else.
