AND DIRECTOR/ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR (POLICY RESEARCH) KENTUCKY STATE DATA CENTER

 

The Department of Urban and Public Affairs (UPA) at the University of
Louisville invites applications for a tenure or tenure track appointment to
serve as Director or Associate Director of the Kentucky State Data Center.
In addition the appointment will serve as a faculty member in the
department. Tenure and rank are negotiable and dependent upon
qualifications. The position is a 12-month appointment and is expected to
begin July 2011.  The Kentucky State Data Center is the state's official
liaison to the U.S. Census Bureau and also conducts basic research in public
policy, evaluation, planning, etc.  The 

 

 

Director of the State Data Center supervises general policy research and
oversees the Federal-State Cooperative Program for Population Estimates.
The appointee will have a 1-1 teaching load.

 

Qualifications for the position include: Ph.D. in demography, economics,
geography, sociology, public policy, political science, statistics, urban
planning or a related field; experience in areas of policy research in a
collaborative academic setting; a record of grant and contract funding;
excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills; a record of
academic, peer-reviewed publications suitable to the appointed rank or
granting of tenure; an aptitude for working collaboratively with state and
local governments, various  organizations, the U.S. Census Bureau, and the
academic community An acquaintance with demography is desirable.
