Dear Urb Colleagues,

I have several students working on a project to contextualize local
(southern) Black urban history/urban morphology (from 1830s freedmen to
contemporary) and I'm wondering if anyone can recommend 3-4 books and
articles that might help them place the experience of the city in a larger
context. They are working on creating an interpretive exhibition. They
are heading for the archives and the Sanborn maps and city registers etc.

Thanks

Manda
