The quiet build mode is one thing I don't like when working on Linux
kernel and uClibc. It's inconvenient to redo the make with V=1 every
time I want to see the command line. It hides the command line, it also
hides the command options. It occurred several times that I didn't
notice some important options were missing or weird options were added.
I usually do build in Emacs, so it's very easy to notice any warnings
and errors. Even with quiet mode, you have to look at the screen while
building to notice warnings or errors. It doesn't help much for me when
building large things since I usually switch to other stuff while building.

Anyway, if most of other developers like it, I will not strongly object.
I can live with it as I have been living with Linux kernel and uClibc
for the past years.
