I have replaced the old "python2.X-urwid" packages in the package
repository on excess.org with a single "python-urwid" package. This
brings these packages in line with the latest Debian Python packaging
policies.
The python-urwid packages on excess.org are now identical to the ones
that will appear in the official Debian repositories (they will just
appear a little earlier).
When you want to upgrade Urwid you must now use the "python-urwid" package.
I have also included source packages, so you can also add a deb-src line
to your sources.list if you like.
