Title: Business Analyst Location: San Jose, CA Duration: 6+ months contract Client seeking a Business Analyst to gather business requirements, understand business goals and provide strategic and tactical support in critical project planning and project execution. Group delivers projects in a highly cross functional partnership environment. The ideal candidate is flexible and highly organized, has the ability to quickly grasp business needs and issues and is comfortable interpreting meaning and relevance from raw data. The candidate is able to understand verbal explanations of customer requests and incorporate that information into the appropriate documents. BA provides project management support by analyzing business requirement documentation, process flows and associated data to drive toward a successful project implementation. Candidate will be working closely with Subject Matter experts and IT counterparts to deliver and track milestones, drive escalations where appropriate and keep project documentation updated and coordinated with other projects. Candidate will apply expert knowledge and understanding of interdependencies between business processes, IT functionality and project deliverables to support team members as needed. Skills: Strong business process and business analysis skills, ability to effectively engage with IT; ability to effectively engage with non-technical end users; Ability to actively listen at all levels in the organization and translate into achievable objectives; Ability to analyze current processes in relation to the project requirements and identify opportunities for improvement; Ability to understand 'as is' process and translate it into a 'to be' process; Ability to facilitate information sharing through various methods of communication: e-mail, team meetings and follow-up documentation creation; Works autonomously with minimal management direction; managed by exception with check-ins as decision are made; Problem solving skills; Functions well in a team atmosphere. Desired Skills: Knowledge of international transportation, contracts and trade (import/export) compliance Corporate cross flow project delivery methods and milestones Familiarity with Project Management Professional (PMP) and/or DMAIC methodology Familiarity with Oracle or other ERP systems Thanks & regards.......?
