*Requirement 1*: Title: Sortation Systems Analyst II Duration: Permanent Location: Pittsburgh PA Status: USC & GCH Description: *Overview: * Individual selected will be responsible for managing distributed IBM AIX & HP-UX Servers, including disk storage subsystems. Individual will be responsible for server configuration, system installations, troubleshooting, performance tuning at a hardware and software level (including system tuning with hosted C applications) , overseeing security, conducting backups and monitoring for critical operations in the area of automated sortation. Individual will consult with business area and field users, management and vendors to provide capacity planning analysis for the mission critical IT sortation systems. Individual will work with a team of software developers to evaluate the organization's technology use and recommend improvements in hardware and software, and to identify solutions for operational needs. Position requires 10% overnight travel and on-call availability for end-user/system support on a rotating basis. *Position Information: * Education - Mandatory Requirement: Bachelor's degree in computer science, MIS or a related field plus 6 years of experience in the offered position or with IT functions in a business environment. Education - Preferred Requirement: Master's degree in computer science, MIS or a related field plus 4 years of experience in the offered position or with IT functions in a business environment *Minimum year(s) of experience in the following areas: * 4 years minimum experience hosting databases on Unix Server platforms included system performance tuning to increase data I/O rates. 4 years minimum experience with server performance tuning experience using techniques at a hardware and software level. This includes analysis, determination and remediation of performance issues. Work Related Skills: • 4 years experience with IBM AIX and/or HPUX operating systems including installation and configuration and maintaining disk storage subsystems. • 2 years minimum C programming experience including troubleshooting and hosting of C applications. *Required:* * * IBM AIX & HP-UX Servers C programming *Requirement 2:* Title: Senior Systems Analyst Duration: Permanent Location: Pittsburgh PA Status: USC & GCH Description: *Overview: * Position will be responsible for analyzing, designing, development of software and coordinating with customers and assisting with project leadership in support of Integrated Sortation System (ISS) for FXG, SmartPost Sortation Platform for FXSP, and development towards a common strategy for Applications Development supporting Automated Sortation across the FedEx enterprise. Primary duties include software development, lead role in requirements definition, design and specifications writing, project management including tasks and man day estimates, customer support, and problem solving. This successful candidate will be responsible for Applications Development supporting ISS applications that include C, Java, JMS, and Oracle. *Position Information: * Education - Mandatory Requirement: Bachelors Degree in a technical field or equivalent Education - Preferred Requirement: Bachelors Degree in MIS/Computer Science, Mathematics or Engineering. Minimum experience required: 6 years experience in developing applications in C on UNIX (HPUX, AIX, Linux), Web Services, JMS, Oracle and Java middle tier / GUI. Minimum year(s) of experience in the following areas: Minimum experience required 5 years experience in developing applications in C on UNIX (HPUX, AIX, Linux), Web Services, JMS, Oracle and Java middle tier / GUI. Work Related Skills: This position is in support of a mission critical process and applicant must work well under pressure.
