ROLE DESCRIPTION: The Technical Lead will provide technical insight and leadership for projects within the Brand-facing portfolio at Volkswagen Group of America. The Technical Lead is responsible for the completion of all technical impact analysis and documentation in compliance with Company Standards, Policies and Methodologies. ROLE DESCRIPTION: The duration of this role is planned for 1+ years. RESPONSIBILITIES: * Act as high-level Subject Matter Expert on internal applications and software for initial speculation conversations. * Participate in project solution impact assessments against all applicable standards and policies to ensure definition and planning for comprehensive set of deliverables. * Gather, create and manage technical requirements and specifications that support business requirements while following all applicable standards, practices and policies. * Creating and maintaining requirements traceability. * Provide input to Requests for Proposals (RFPs) for technology related services and products. * Creating and validating architectural and process requirements for all projects within the portfolio * Participation in solution delivery process by leading technical requirements fulfillment, assist project manager in meeting project schedules, manage the creation of technical project documentation, and assist the process of change management throughout the product lifecycle. * Setting project technical direction in alignment with overall program and enterprise initiatives. * Governing project technical solutions to ensure their alignment with approved technology standards. * Understanding and following Company's standard solution development methodology. * Reviewing and approving project technical deliverables from a governance perspective. The best candidate for the role will have an enterprise IT strategy background and perspective, digital branding experience, and be very familiar with the software development practice and methodologies. Specifically, experience in IT architecture planning, hosting and IT application planning, and software development is desired. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: * 7-10 years experience in Information Technology including: * Java-based web applications development. * Application architecture (modeling and software design). * RDBMS development and management using Oracle 10g and mySQL. * Software release management and source control experience. * Product management or significant project delivery experience. * Demonstrated experience/knowledge in application development and related technologies (object-oriented analysis/development, web application architecture, open systems infrastructure architecture/management, release management). * Demonstrated experience/knowledge in the integration of application and infrastructure architecture. * Ability to manage multiple technical issues in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment. * Proven written and oral communications and presentation skills. * Demonstrated experience in managing and working with external vendors. DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: * Open systems development experience. * Software architecture experience. * Software or technical product development experience. * MSCS or MBA desired, but not required with a well-qualified candidate.
