Description:
We would like to have somebody strong in technical (preferred
Commerce/Portal or J2EE), able to communicate well.
We need a strong team lead, who manages Technical Architecture, Design and
implementation. Architect will be a good candidate for this role.
Java/J2EE, IBM Commerce and Portal and Oracle. We also use Interwoven
(content management), Informatica, Endeca (search) as core technologies.
Looking for architects who would be able to architect and lead across the
entire platform.
It will be critical for this person to have a strong background in a B2B
retail industry. They should have strong IBM Web sphere Commerce, Portal and
J2EE experience.

*ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS *
1. Designs and develops eBusiness related applications to meet user
requirements.
2. Designs and implements the components required for complex
application features and multiple projects. These activities include
defining, architecting, coding, testing, debugging, and deployment to
support application systems.
3. Creates methodologies in development and implementation of
eBusiness applications.
4. Produces detailed functional specifications, requirements analysis,
design specifications, proposals, statements of work and work estimates.
5. Prepares estimates and develops project plans.
6. Suggests technical alternatives and makes recommendations to
internal customers the most effective and efficient automated approach.
7. Diagnoses technical issues and resolve.
8. Monitors development in Web-related technologies, oversee and
participate in the evaluation, selection, acquisition, installation,
maintenance, and operation of Web-related technologies and emerging,
sate-of-the-art tools and technologies.
9. Researches and implements technological improvements to streamline
processes.
10. Manages communication between internal customers and various
functional groups.
11. Provides technical consultation and guidance to other IT groups and
junior developers to ensure completeness and compliance with established
standards.
12. Participates in vendor evaluations and provides recommendations.
13. Interviews, selects, develops, mentors and evaluates performance of
staff.
14. Works across many levels in the organization to develop specific
objective for Web sites and serves as a primary force for implementing the
technical strategies necessary to reach Company objectives.
15. Works effectively as a team member both within and across the Company
to promote and integrate E-Commerce services through communication,
cooperation and collaboration.
*SKILLS AND ABILITIES *
1. Must have superior Java and J2EE expertise. Prior experience with
and detailed knowledge of J2EE Best Practices and be up to date on the very
latest J2EE and related specifications and standards.
2. Comfortable doing needs / requirements analysis and recommending
cost effective and justifiable solutions.
3. Expertise with J2EE architectures, design patterns, and complete
application development lifecycle; mastery of J2EE, EJB, JMS, JSP, and Java
Servlets; strong proficiency in ANT, Application Servers, IBM Websphere, XML
and Unix; working knowledge of UML modeling techniques, JDBC, SQL, RDBMS's
and Struts preferred
4. Familiarity with methodologies, frameworks and extensive SDLC:
RUP-Rational Unified Process, EAI (web Methods), Content Management
Solutions, Harvest.
5. Strong problem solving and troubleshooting abilities
6. Performance tuning expertise with J2EE applications
7. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to
communicate effectively with different levels of management, as well as both
business and technical departments. Detail oriented. Strong project/time
management skills
8. Solid understanding of diverse environments and components -
mainframe, Unix, Windows, database, networks, etc.
