*Title:* *Front-End Web Developer, Shared Trading
Contract Duration: 3-6 Months
Location:* Austin, Texas
*Minimum Requirements:*
- The successful candidate will have earned a BS or MS in engineering, or
computer science or equivalent work experience. Specific experience
requirements include: Three-plus years of professional experience in object
oriented, web development. Two-plus years of experience in GUI development
in Java, JSP, Servlet, HTML, JavaScript, Web Services and Struts is
required.
- Essential technical skills include mastery of many of the following:
JSP and Servlets
Web development
Prior experience working in Securities industry is a plus.
multi-platform development
complex multi-threaded applications
database programming (JDBC, MySQL)
network programming (sockets, NIO, RMI)
object/relational mappers (Hibernate)
good understanding and utilization of APIs, OO design
XML, ANT
Maven
Spring Framework
JMX
agile development methods
2+ years systems development experience in Java
financial trading applications
Experience with Electronic trading, client connectivity, trading
interface design, and message format
Knowledge of software development methodologies and automated
testing tools (JUnit)
Aptitude for technical troubleshooting and proven ability to
support mission critical applications
Detail-oriented and ability to work in a team-oriented, fast-paced
environment
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
No J2EE, EJB experience required.
- The following skills are a plus:
enterprise messaging systems (JMS, or similar)
financial information exchange protocol (FIX)
numerical methods / scientific programming
scripting languages (Perl, BASH)
Java performance tuning
Open Source user interface technologies
Description:
- Participate in both the design and implementation of a set of
monitoring and reporting tools to manage a high frequency/low latency
execution infrastructure.
- Deliver together with the rest of the STS group a unique execution
services platform.
- Provide technical expertise to deliver on requirements presented by
different business units.
