There is a 15% bonus - Seven to ten years experience as a computer professional in a DBA role. - High level of expertise in an Oracle 10g database environment. - High Level of expertise in a Microsoft SQL*Server environment. - Experience in Computer System Validation in the pharmaceutical industry. - Extensive experience in database monitoring, optimization, and replication for disaster recovery and high availability. - Expertise in Oracle development suite of tools. - Extensive expertise in SQL programming. - Bachelors degree in Computer Science, advanced degree preferred. - Microsoft SQL*Server Certified or equivalent experience. - Oracle Certified Professional or equivalent experience. - Excellent project management and people management skills. - Excellent problem solving skills. - Excellent technical troubleshooting skills. - Ability to work effectively under pressure. - Ability to work independently, with limited supervision. - Ability to work on many tasks simultaneously. *Position reports to: Director, Information Technologies * The data base administrator (DBA) is principally responsible for the planning, maintenance and development of all databases incorporated into financial and R&D based application systems · The DBA is responsible to ensure: data remains consistent across each database, data is clearly defined, users can consistently access databases concurrently in a form that meets their business needs, and that there are sufficiently robust provisions for data security and disaster recovery. · Provides a leadership role in the administration of all databases, including: assisting application support personnel in the design, creation, and maintenance of databases, designing appropriate system backup and restore procedures for each database, and maintaining appropriate data security. · Plays a key role in providing system users in all departments with technical assistance regarding database activities. · On a continual basis, evaluates database performance and takes steps to maintain acceptable response times. · Identifies commercially available database management utilities to facilitate maintenance and monitoring of databases. · Completes other special projects assigned by the Director, Information Technologies. · Remains current with emerging industry standard computer technologies. · Maintains a collaborative relationship with IT personnel at other locations in order to partner in deployment of new database systems, or collectively troubleshoot problems. · Performs or directs subordinates in the evaluation of potential software packages. · Participates in global IT management meetings. · Is a key member of records management administration team. -- Thanks&Regards Madhukar.Doppalapudi [email protected] --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "US_IT.Groups" group.
