Location: Phoenix,AZ Duration: 6+ MONTHS Description: Project Name: Project Engineer Project Description: Engineer will be engaged to peform project analysis, estimate requirements, equipment build, project coordination with other technical resources including customers and perform project implementations. Some of the work may be scheduled after business hours or on weekends. Job Description: Requirement is for a Project Engineer to perform the tasks outlined below. This individual must have appropriate technical knowledge and skills, and also be an experienced leader, who has successfully interacted with customers and internal management providing verbal and written project statuses. Responsibilities: The Project Engineer shall perform tasks as described below, and as directed by the customer: • Using Project Management knowledge and skills, as well as experience working in information technology development project teams, the successful candidate shall complete assigned projects • Complete the analysis, design, execution and support of assigned projects, including contributing to resource planning and activity timelines. Duties shall also entail the use of standardized project management methodology to guide assigned projects in a consistent, organized and a reliable manner • Assist with the definition, planning and implementation of the goals and milestones associated with assigned projects • Complete supporting technical documentation for the project including Site Documentation Packages (SDP), Service Requests and Change Requests • Interface directly with third parties technical organizations, vendors and maintenance providers during project planning and implementation activities • Review installation plans and schedules, and review delivery orders and task order requests for accuracy and for compliance with stated requirements • Provide progress updates of scheduled activities, troubleshoot problems and make adjustments, as necessary, to ensure that tasks are completed as directed and on time. Experience: • 3 to 5 years experience working in network engineering • Must have hand-on experience with Cisco routers and switches (CCNA preferred). • In-depth knowledge and work related experience with EIGRP, BGP and OSPF protocols and network routing • Working knowledge of frame relay, ATM and MPLS as used in Enterprise networks • Hands on experience creating and testing router configurations and network turn-up and testing • Working knowledge of MS Office including Excel, Project and Access • Experience coordinating with Operations, and Help Desk Staff to isolate and resolve escalated issues. • Experience in presenting technical material to customers or other non-technical staff. • Effective written and verbal communication skills. • Demonstrated experience in the following Body of Knowledge Areas: Telecommunication and Network Security, Project Management, Network, Local and Wide Area Network Architecture, Devices and Protocols, Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery Planning Education: • Bachelors Degree from an accredited university or equivalent experience. • A technology-based degree (e.g., Computer Science or Information Technology) is preferred.
