*Major Duties and Responsibilities:*
A. Assist the Transformation Manager/Supervisor
in oversight of the IBM technical transformation activities for all tasks
associated with the consolidation and optimization of 27 Texas state
agencies’ data center services, including equipment migration, software
upgrades, software licensing, application performance, technology planning
and optimization of the State’s IT infrastructure disaster recovery
services.
B. Provide overall guidance to IBM regarding
the technical and operational server computing needs of DIR and DIR
customers.
C. Architect enterprise solutions (e.g.
enterprise fax) where appropriate to facilitate data center consolidation.
D. Assist DIR and the IBM team in forecasting
server computer resource requirements; reviews, endorses, and “forwards for
approval” strategic and operational plans for the consolidated server
environment.
E. Assists the Transformation
Manager/Supervisor to ensure successful transfer of assets, facilities, and
service delivery responsibilities to the IBM team for all outsourced server
computer services associated with the consolidation initiative
F. Support DIR Transformation Representatives,
DIR Service Representatives and DIR customers in identifying, escalating and
resolving server related issues in collaboration with the Service Provider
G. Reviews performance reports and identifies
issues or opportunities for continuous improvement; develops or enhances
server related performance metrics to facilitate evaluation of work
activities; reviews benchmarking approach and participates in server
benchmarking activities; develops and recommends modifications to server
related DIR information technology infrastructure standards.
H. Support DIR Transformation Representatives
and DIR customers in identifying, escalating and resolving server
consolidation related issues in collaboration with the Service Provider.
