Title: Weblogic /Java Admin/Developer

- This is a Weblogic/Java Admin/Developer role in the application
architecture and development job family.
- Main responsibilities include Weblogic performance tuning, implementing
Weblogic/Java features, and Weblogic/Java development, troubleshoot
application/system level issues as well as some production support for
Opera, a data warehouse that will migrate from Oracle 9i to an Oracle 10g
implementation along with upgrading to Weblogic 10 from Weblogic 8.x. A
Unix-based batch job streams that source data from various systems, a custom
middleware application gateway, downstream clients, custom middleware data
access framework enables ad hoc user queries, and several and web-based
front-end applications. troubleshoot application/system level issues
- Performance Tuning – Investigate and resolve performance bottlenecks in
database queries.
- Implement java/oracle DB tuning technology, parameter
changes/enhancements, etc.
- Technology Change Migration – Provide assistance in Weblogic and hardware
upgrades, capacity planning, Disaster Recovery, interoperability with
databases
- Weblogic Upgrade/Migration – Interact with development and middleware team
to assist in development upgrades to code design, weblogic specific
enhancements. Conduct peer design reviews
- Prototyping – Demonstrate the adaptability of Weblogic features in the
application context.

- Weblogic Application admin 8 and 9+ (4+ years)
- Unix shell scripting (4+ years)
- Weblogic performance tuning (4+ years)
- Java programming
- Weblogic 8.x to 9.x or 10.x
- Financial/Brokerage experience
*Desired Skills: *
- Oracle PL/SQL programming (3+ years)
- Exposure to Oracle 10g
- Exposure to Message Based ETL framework
- General knowledge of fixed income and equity products
*Personal Skills: *
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Clear communication and documentation of technical specifications

*Background/Experience: *
- 5+ years of application development experience, preferably in a large
corporation with a demonstrated ability to navigate large, complex
organizations to get work done
- College degree in computer science or comparable quantitative field such
