Location: CADuration: 6 MonthsRates: Please keep the rates competitive! POSITION SUMMARY: The incumbent will be involved in the ongoing development and enhancements of various products. Core skills are object-oriented design and experience developing component-based/distributed software systems using various programming languages. In addition, the individual will be heavily involved in systems architecture, database design and manipulation, and third party interfaces.RESPONSIBILITIES:Create, design, develop, code, test, debug, provide beta support and implement software programs.Perform highly detailed analysis, design, programming, and unit/integration testing of complex subsystems and modules.Design and build high-quality applications and components using Agile development methods.Perform complex product design activities on applications software which may require extensive research and analysis.Investigate repercussions to entire product i.e., implications of changes, design, analysis of changes and accurate estimates of effort.Apply all phases of software development lifecycle including requirements gathering, analysis, design, build, deployment, and maintenance.Solve highly technical and complex problems on multiple projects, and provide consultative support to team members.SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:Proven knowledge of C++ on Windows, object oriented programming, relational databases, multi-threading and real-time applicationsProven knowledge of Agile development methods, specifically eXtreme programmingProven understanding of entire development process, including specification, documentation and quality assurancePrevious experience with enterprise production environments, including understanding of operational support issuesProven technical knowledge in software development methodologies, design and implementationDemonstrated ability to analyze and design at multiple product levelsDemonstrated excellent communication skills (verbal and written), good interpersonal skills, excellent ability to gather and understand requirements in the financial sectorDemonstrated ability to handle multiple concurrent projects while adapting quickly to rapidly changing prioritiesPrevious experience developing industry specific applications is a plus *** No Telephone calls please.
