Participates in the requirements development for applying business needs to technical applications. • Knowledge of the system requirements definition (RD) processes and modeling methods and tools • Define and document internal and external user interfaces and support system and data requirement clarification and definition. • Ability to tailor information to multiple user audiences, including customers and senior management • Must be able to interact with customer to elicit, document, refine, and verify business requirements, functional requirements, and non-functional requirements that are traceable to concrete business objectives. Goes the ‘extra mile’ for the customer to the extent that it is reasonable • Ability to support prototyping activities that will validate business requirements and solution definition • Experience with networked data management systems • Knowledge and understanding of Software Requirements trends, directions and market experience; ability to relate them to own organization • Knowledge of tools, techniques and good practices for capturing, storing, documenting, tracking, tracing, and changing business and system requirements. • Ability to apply general organizational knowledge of the business and systems processes in problem analysis • Ability to work on ‘stretch’ work assignments and act decisively when faced with critical problems • Highly developed oral and written communications skills • Ability to coach and mentor other lower level business systems analysts • BS Technical undergraduate degree in math, computer science, engineering, or related discipline with an information technology focus, or BA. with 4+years equivalent B.A. experience.
