 Position: UNIX Operations Engineer
Location: Portland, OR
Duration: 6 months+ 

Rate: $35/Max 


Skills/Roles Required for this Position:
5 years of professional experience in Information Technology or IT specific
business 
3 years experience in UNIX systems administration (Must have Sun experience)

Proven experience installing, configuring and administering either SunOne or
Apache Server including SSL certificates and configuration 
Competent with web-based Java and J2EE architectures 
Strong understanding of Internet technologies including firewalls and load
balancers 
3 years of experience using shell and PERL scripting in a production
environment 
Experience with version control applications is required. 
Ability to multitask, work in a team, in a fast paced environment 
Proven communication skills with management, technical peers and
non-technical peers 

Nice to Have/Highly Desired, but not required: 
JBoss experience is highly desired 
Solid understanding of DNS 
Ability to troubleshoot, debug, and integrate three-tiered web-based systems

Experience with performance monitoring tools, capacity planning processes 
Experience with Ruby programming language is a plus 
Experience with Subversion version control tools is a plus.
