If you are currently available for an assignment, you might wish to check out the following requirement Position: ETL Developer / Admin Location: St Louis, MO Duration: 12 months Start: ASAP Rate: $43/max ****Needs Local or near by as face to face is required**** - 5 yrs US is a must - Longer duration - at least 1 yr min in each job - they will not accept 6 months contracts on the resume - they will see longevity 1 - 2 yrs Responsibilities: The successful candidate will work within the team to maintain enterprise-level Java/Oracle applications using Pentaho Data Integration (Kettle 3.1) and Informatica PowerCenter ETL tools. The candidate will work as part of a team comprised of a project manager, business analysts, and other members of the technical staff to use OOAD techniques to develop multi-tier applications to support sequencing and analysis efforts. Specific responsibilities will include: . Design and architect ETL solutions as part of a cross-functional team. . Create automated ETL regression tests as part of the development process. . Work with Scientific Business Analysts to understand requirements. . Implement transformation rules, and develop ETL code between systems in conjunction with other team members. . Focus on ETL design, development, and performance tuning. . Provide level-3 production support for data warehouse jobs on a rotational basis. . Responsible for ensuring integration with the data warehouse. Required Skills: BS in Computer Science or equivalent experience. The candidate must possess the following technical experience: . Minimum requirements include at least 5 years of full time experience with ETL tools and processes in a scientific or technical environment. . Strong experience with Informatica PowerCenter for ETL development, Informatica PowerCenter performance tuning and optimization, data profiling, data quality and change data capture (CDC). . Strong database query and performance tuning abilities. . Most possess advanced SQL programming skills using Oracle. . A demonstrated ability to learn and acquire new technologies as needed. Desired Skills: . Bioinformatics experience in the medical or other life sciences industry. . Minimum 5 years experience with Oracle and 3 years experience using SQL. . Experience with database modeling and design. . Experience with Object-Oriented methodologies, and Test First Development. . Agile Programming. . Experience using Pentaho Data Integration (Kettle) Open Source tool. . Working knowledge of designing and implementing Data Marts and Operational Data store (ODS) in Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW). . Understanding of Informatica PowerCenter architecture, Informatica PowerCenter Administration and repository maintenance is a plus. . General knowledge of Business Intelligence and reporting strategies is a plus. . Strong interpersonal and communication skills are highly desired.
