Candidate will administer, maintain and tune high-availability, high-performance database solutions using products from Microsoft and Oracle. The candidate must have excellent technical, communication and organizational skills. The hosting environment comprises 1000 Wintel servers and 350 Web-facing applications and continues to grow. It is widely recognized for its innovative use of the latest technologies from Microsoft, Cisco, Oracle and other leading IT companies. Job Responsibilities: • Proactively monitor the database servers to ensure high availability • Review the performance of databases on a periodic basis to identify and provide recommendations for index updates. • Work with Deployment Team Members to plan, review and deploy databases and database updates for applications • Develop Data Transformation (DTS or SSIS) scripts • Provide recommendations to enhance performance of databases • Verify database jobs are run successfully according to their defined schedules • Provide periodic reports on the performance, capacity and availability of database servers.
