*Job Title:* System Administrator - HP UNIX *Location:* Boston, MA
*Duration:* Contract *Responsibilities:* · Provide hands-on technical systems administration of Boston site infrastructure, including UNIX, storage, backup, and database environments, and remote administration of a high-performance computational cluster utilized by Boston scientists. · Perform software and hardware installation, updates, and maintenance · Manage local storage & backup systems · Responsible for security & maintenance policies and configuration management of servers and applications · Support Open Source tools library on UNIX systems · Serve as an IT technical resource for local scientists & developers · Analyze and solve client problems · Assist developers with performance monitoring · Isolate system performance bottlenecks · Manage capacity · On-call emergency response coverage, with occasional after-hours activities to minimize customer disruption *Qualifications:* · Proficiency in UNIX system administration, particularly Linux (RedHat/SuSE) & Solaris · Experience in implementing and troubleshooting UNIX network utilities & applications: NIS, NFS, DNS, DHCP, PXE, Sendmail, Apache, Package tools Experience with installation, management & configuration of open source packages such as SAMBA, Nagios, Ganglia, Orca, Apache, mySQL · Experience with storage volume & file management/retention and backup (BlueArc, Isilon, Tivoli) · Excellent oral and written communication skills, and a professional customer service ethic, with high ability to prioritize, organize & multi-task · Proficiency with at least one scripting language (shell, Perl, Ruby) · Familiarity or experience preferred in one or more of the following: Oracle, mySQL; Linux computational clusters; distributed resource management solutions, such as SGE, PBS or LSF; SystemImager --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "US_IT.Groups" group.
