The Engine is a component of the Crew Reroute Optimizer applications and there is a team of developers and business analysts with whom the candidate will work to develop new functionality. Essential Responsibilities*: *• Understand business requirements in order to assist in the design of changes to crew rules. • Possess programming expertise in UNIX, C++, IBM/ILOG CPLEX LP/IP tool. Must have a strong background in Operations Research and a thorough understanding of heuristics. Familiarity with Airline Operations is a plus. Familiarity with Pilot and Flight Attendant work rules would be nice to have as well*. • Develop appropriate software and documentation according to Delta Information Technology standards. • Support and troubleshoot computer systems as required, optimizing performance, resolving problems, and providing timely follow up on all problems. Developing new functionality required for the Delta/NW merger as well as enhancements requested by the business. • Follow Delta Information Technology standards and methodologies in the development and implementation of computer software. • Will work with Delta employee with similar skill set to Basic Entry Requirements: • Bachelors Degree in CS, Engineering, or IS or any equivalent combination of experience, education, and/or training in the computer systems development field. Previous airline experience ideal. • Ability to work within a team environment. • Experience building computer software within the Airline business a plus.
