Oracle Production DBA w/Streams

Job Description:
The Oracle Production DBA will install, configure, patch, upgrade databases
and binaries, execute performance testing, perform maintenance and control,
for all pre-production performance test client databases.
Candidate will be responsible for the creation of new databases while
supporting enhancements to existing Oracle databases for client
applications. There will be a mix of in-house developed and vendor
purchased software requiring database back-end support.
This position requires problem identification and problem solving skills,
particularly related to environment, build and management.
The candidate will serve as a key resource in optimizing database
performance.
Comfortable working with large, multi-terabyte databases; ability to
optimize & parallelize migration of large databases
Expertise with refreshing performance test environment from production
databases and managing data requirements for performance testing.
Required Skills:
5+ years experience each with Oracle 9i/10g on Solaris and/or LINUX
Detailed knowledge of STREAMS is required
Database and Server Performance Monitoring and Tuning, and Capacity
Planning
Unix Shell scripting is required
Knowledge of backups and recovery
Security Administration
PL/SQL
Candidate must possess self motivation and strong communication
skills to manage customer relations with emphasis on verbal communication
and problem solving skills
